Non-Telecos
-
AIR is an economic possibility for non-telecommunications companies to enter the telecommunications market.
- Non-telecommunications operators could roll-out AIR in order to achieve attractive return-on-investment yields
- Return on investment can be particularily attractive if non- telecommunications operators already have some telecommunications infrastructure, usable sites for base- stations or usable spectrum
- Non-telecommunications companies rolling-out an AIR network may be able to achieve a pay-back time of 18 to 30 months and attractive return-on-investment yields afterwards
Non-telcos holding frequency range licenses may build AIR to either provide voice + broadband or Triple Play infrastructure.
A stand-alone AIR network can easily achieve a pay-back time on investments of e.g. 23 months in a sample calculation.
